'The Wayang Kulit Maker' is a book that I wrote and illustrated about a girl who dreams of following in her grandfather's footsteps to become a Wayang Kulit (Indonesian leather shadow puppet) maker. This story is deeply personal to me as it allowed me to explore my Indonesian culture and heritage that I didn't get the chance to be immersed in growing up. I hope that this 32-page picture book that I have created would serve as a portal to life in Java, Indonesia in the 1900s.
